My Artistic Approach
Photography as an Inevitability
My photographic approach is not a quest; it is an encounter. I never set out with an image in mind; I await the one that will impose itself upon my gaze. Whether it’s an alley in Naples bathed in improbable light, a solitary silhouette in the gardens of Paris, or the silent geometry of a Neuchâtel landscape, my work is guided by instinct. I only photograph what resonates with me, what fascinates me, or what breaks the routine of reality.
This free and intuitive approach is, for me, the only way to capture not just a simple scene, but the silent narrative unfolding within it.
The Journey: From Instinct to Mastery
My path is that of a rigorous self-taught individual. For over a decade, I relentlessly explored the limits of technique in the field, alone, testing a wide variety of equipment, from film photography for the depth of its monochromes to digital for its flexibility.
This empirical exploration was consolidated by training at the prestigious Leica Akademie Geneva, not to learn a trade, but to perfect an already intuitive technique and place it entirely at the service of a vision. Today, I favor the Leica Q2. More than a camera, it is an instrument chosen for its discretion and the exceptional optical quality of its lens. It is not an intermediary, but a direct extension of my gaze, allowing me to capture the decisive moment without ever breaking the intimacy of the scene.
The Vision: Revealing the Extraordinary in the Ordinary
My collections are dialogues. A dialogue between Switzerland, my home base, and the great urban souls that are Paris or Naples. Far from expected clichés, I seek to reveal the character of a place through its details, its contrasts, and the humanity that inhabits it. Each photograph is an invitation to share a discovery, an emotion, a profound connection.
For me, the photographic act is only fully realized when it becomes a tangible work of art. This is why each work is destined to become an exceptional print, embodying the promise of absolute quality and rarity.
